14 artists & working with 200 kids 3 weeks Silversands Barbados

Organised by Art & Culture Exchange an artists collective based in Basildon Essex. I taught painting & drawing with the older kids & helped with the 2 murals that were painted. Fourteen artists took part in the project over July and August enabling us to see the the cropover festival. We slept on the tiled floor of newly built classrooms, but the local people welcomed us into their homes to feed us.

There was also Drama workshops, mask making for young children, and a football coach.

The children had an art exhibition & put on a cabaret performance for the end of the residency that made the front page of their national newspaper.

What a job!

I currently teach Art & Design (.4) at B6 Brooke House Sixth Form College in East London. Where my tutees have taken part in projects with, SevenSeven Gallery, ING Bank & Ideas Foundation (Design Musuem).

I feel the breath of my ancestors on the back of my neck; they have halitosis.

Despite our society's tendancy towards replication therapy on an imersive scale, there is an erosion of our genetic memory capacity through the media’s constant repetition and reduction of information, replacing everything that was ever real with emptiness. I hope to give you and me something for that emptiness.
